Artist Statement
My art career seems to have followed the changing state of our oceans.
I began collecting driftwood from my many walks on Cornish beaches and creating sculpture.
As time moved on wood became more scare and was rapidly being replaced with plastic.
Today I leave any driftwood for nature to reclaim and claim instead the rainbow colours of a man made product that has changed the world’s oceans from pure to poisoned.
I now create pieces that aim to be enjoyable and thought provoking. Made from one of man’s greatest inventions that has changed the world but could go on to destroy it if we don’t think about how we manage it. Now and into the future.
